MAY 1ST &
MAKE YOUR SUMMER MATTER
After last year's incredible success we are excited to offer in-person Summer Intensives. We will follow all CDC guidelines and offer campers an incomparable week!
Many camps are an opportunity to discover the arts. This intensive is for young performers who have already discovered their love for performing and want to take it to the next level.
GROW AS A PERFORMER, ARTIST, AND PROFESSIONAL – ALL IN 1 WEEK
Camps are for students entering Grade 3 through those entering College as of September 2021. Each week will help young performers grow in the disciplines of singing, acting, and dancing. Here's what you'll learn!
Pre-select pieces to work on that fit your range
Analyze your vocal book to add what you are missing
Learn proper placement and technique to keep your instrument healthy
Improve performance value of existing and new pieces
Learn acting essentials and how the industry works (local vs national)
Dive deep into headshots, resumés, and demos
Add monologues (classical AND contemporary) to your audition repertoire
Master cold-reads and scene work
Explore the opportunity and importance of being a versatile actor
Dance call survival skills
Help movers and untrained dancers get the basics
Elevate dancers and push to audition readiness
How to train and keep your body safe and healthy
We also bring industry experts to Louisville so you learn from the pros! Last year included Joel Kirk, Douglas Lyons, Missy Lay Zimmer, and Andrew Hubbard.
The week culminates in a performance opportunity that will be published — a great addition to your resume!
We start with a placement screening so we can identify where you are developmentally. These screenings allow our staff to select audition pieces for you BEFORE you arrive! Students are grouped based on age and ability.
send us a video and include
A 1-1:30 minute contemporary monologue from a play, or a clipping from a young adult novel. Make sure your piece is age appropriate. Show us your range!
32 bars of an upbeat tempo contemporary musical or pop song. A single instrument karaoke track works well or a cappella.
:30 seconds to 1:00 of movement or dancing— freestyle to an upbeat tempo song. If you are a dancer, show us what you've got. If you're not, show us how you move to the music.
A 1 to 2 minute personality clip. Tell us who you are. Do you have any relevant experience? What goals do you have for training? What areas do you need help with the most?
PRO TIPS: Please turn your phone to landscape or horizontal to film. Make sure the background is free of clutter — a plain wall works great. Shoot the song and monologue from the shoulders up. Do not zoom in. Make sure you have lots of light so we can see the color of your eyes. Make sure the area is quiet.
