Calling all Teen/Tween Actors, Singers, Dancers, Writers, Musicians and Performers!
Actors Center for Training is casting for an online live streaming performance.
DEADLINE EXTENTED: Submissions accepted though May 4th, 2020 5:00 pm.
ACT Productions will share excerpts from submissions on its social media channels, while choosing performers and pieces to produce an original work online TENTATIVELY scheduled for May 10th.
We want to hear from you! Act Louisville wants your self expression submissions! We will post excerpts from those we find interesting or that we want to share. As we gather these videos, we will be select to put into ONE performance piece. So think of your submission like an audition!
We're all in this together! No one remembers a pandemic of this magnitude happening in their lifetime. Actors Center for Training wants to hear from you! Many of your milestones have been cancelled. So many people are living in fear. Most everyone has to deal with uncertainty and find things to do during these excessive amounts of downtime. Some of you are lucky to spend time with family, to find other ways to be with friends, and ways to express yourselves. Some of you are really struggling. You, the Tweens and Teens, are the witnesses of this time, the historians, and we want to offer an outlet for you to express yourself through art. Art preserves the thoughts and feelings behind history—not just the facts. Your thoughts and feelings matter!
Here’s how it works:
1. Submit your video according to the guidelines below.
2. In your video, give us a one to two minute explanation of or insight insight your piece.
3. Please fill out this form with your name, email, social media handles, and phone number.
Actors/Poets (Spoken Word)
Write your own ORIGINAL reflection, monologue, poem, spoken word piece. Then record yourself reading or upload the document.
OR perform a SELECTION from a novel or play that expresses what you are feeling during this time.
Spoken performance cannot exceed 3 minutes. Singer/Songwriters
Compose and perform an ORIGINAL song
OR choose and perform a song that expresses your feelings during this time
Song cannot exceed 4 minutes. Musicians
Compose an ORIGINAL piece of music that could be played as an accompaniment to a Spoken Word performance, monologue, or dance.
Composition cannot exceed 4 minutes. Dancers
Choreograph a piece to music that speaks to your experience now.
Once we have selected the pieces for the original live performance, we will meet via video conference to unify the piece. We will also rehearse in the evenings online, and premiere the performance digitally on May 1, 2020. It is also our hope to create a performance of this original work at the end of the summer in front of a live audience!
